It’s a wrap!
Posted by Diversity in YA on May 16, 2011 in Blog, Featured, News | 5 commentsWe can hardly believe it, but the May 2011 Diversity in YA tour has officially wrapped! We’d like to thank all the authors who participated in the tour, and we also thank everyone who came out to see us. We had wonderful audiences who asked thoughtful questions, and we are so happy and proud to have made this tour a success!
Here are some recaps of a couple of the events:
- San Francisco — Recap at the Enchanted Inkpot and at Finding Wonderland
- Boston — Recap by Kiperoo and by Chelsey Blair and by Shoshana Flax
And here are photos from the tour (for San Francisco pics, read this post)!

If you came to one of the Diversity Tour events and blogged about it, please leave a link in the comments so we can check our your post. And if you took photos of our tour, feel free to email them to diversityinya at gmail dot com so we can post them, too.
Finally, stay tuned — just because the May tour is over doesn’t mean we are. We have lots more fun (with prizes!) coming in the very near future.

Ironic how leadership of our Cambridge Public Library could be a more diverse leadership. it’s not enough to only give lip service to an ideal where it needs to be put into practice in appointing top library officials.
This was one of the best events I’ve been to in a long time! Everyone was awesome, it was well-moderated, and the questions and answers were inspiring, thoughtful and often funny. I kind of hate you all for adding so many books to my to-read list! Not really, of course.
Malinda, I was too nervous to introduce myself before the event, but I just finished reading Ash and your prose made my heart ache. It’s right on that line between lyric and transparent.

Thank you so much, Nicole! I’m so glad you enjoyed Ash.
Thanks so much for coming to Boston on your tour! It was great meeting you both in person. I love your blog so much that I am passing on the “Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award” to you this week!

Yaaaay, Diversity in YA!
And I almost didn’t read it because I’m not big on Fairies.
